Lucas Morrow, 16, of Carol Stream has completed his Eagle Scout project by organizing members of his Boy Scout Troop 98 to help him record and create CDs of storybooks for the guided classroom of special education students at Elsie Johnson School in Hanover Park.

Lucas' inspiration for the project was his younger sister Grace who is in the classroom. The students have mild to moderate cognitive challenges and are unable to read words but can use pictures. So Lucas obtained a donation from the Knights of Columbus at St. Isidore Church in Bloomingdale to purchase the 50 books. Then he organized members of Troop 98 to read the stories while he created the picture symbols to represent the text. He also obtained a donation from the Office Depot Foundation for the lamination and office supplies costs for the books. Lucas is a junior at Driscoll Catholic High School in Addison.
