Prochno schedules town hall meeting
Christine Prochno, Republican candidate for the Illinois House of Representatives in the 66th District, will be hosting a town hall meeting from 10 a.m. to noon May 31 at the Central Community Center, 1000 Central Road, Mount Prospect. Prochno is seeking the seat of retiring state Rep. Carolyn Krause. Call (847) 353-9174.
New voters can register at Arts fest
League of Women Voters of Arlington Heights-Mount Prospect-Buffalo Grove Area will register new voters from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 31 and June 1 at the Promenade of Arts, Campbell St. and Vail Ave., Arlington Heights.
To register, applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by election day (i.e., born by Nov. 4, 1990), and a resident of their precinct at least 30 days prior to election day. Two pieces of identification are required and at least one piece must have the current address.
Current voters can make address and name changes, too. Bring proper identity, as required by the state of Illinois. Illinois voters do not have to declare affiliation to a political party.

Kenneth Young Center seeks help
Kenneth Young Center seeks volunteers to help run its resale shop at 1150 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. Help is especially needed from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, any evening from 4 to 7 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 1 to 4 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Saturdays. Lions host 50th, seek sponsors
The Elk Grove Village Lions Club is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, and is requesting area business leaders to help celebrate by advertising in the ad book/program to be published for its Anniversary Dinner Dance. A full page ad (Gold Sponsor) is $500; a half page ad (Silver Sponsor) is $250; and a quarter page ad (Bronze sponsor is $125. Individuals can also purchase a one line sponsorship for $25. Share memories of Mt. Prospect places
The Mount Prospect Historical Society has launched a new part of its resource web page mtphistory.org and is looking for memories to add to this site. There is now a Structural Memorial section of the site devoted to memorials for buildings that were once a big part of Mount Prospect but are now gone. The public is invited to submit information and their memories of these buildings or public spaces, which could include Mother's Music, Prospect Theater, Busse School, or any places that evoke memories.
