MCC auto open house draws crowds

McHenry County College awarded two $300 scholarships each to high school students during two recent High School Automotive Open Houses held at the college.

A total of 135 students from five area high schools toured the MCC Automotive Technology Department, met instructors, viewed automotive displays and demonstrations and visited other areas on campus.

Students came from McHenry East High School, McHenry West High School, Marengo High School, Huntley High School, Woodstock High School and Crystal Lake South High School.

Several raffle prizes, including grand prize drawings for MCC scholarships were included. Scholarships winners were Kevin Witz, a junior from McHenry West High School, and Brett Bohn, a senior from Marengo High School.
