Hat trick for Hall as Stevenson soars
Trick-or-treat?
Stevenson's Ali Hall got both on Monday.
With 3 goals, Hall notched a hat trick for Stevenson. Meanwhile teammates Laura Schroeder and Missy Loretto each had 2 goals apiece as the Patriots blanked Zion-Benton in the North Suburban Conference Lake Division match.
As if the 3 goals weren't enough, Hall also added 2 assists, as did Schroeder.
By keeping the Zee-Bees scoreless, Stevenson goalie Courtney Levy got her sixth shutout of the season.
Grayslake C. 2, Johnsburg 1: In the continuation of a game that had been suspended earlier in April, Grayslake Central finished a 2-1 win over Johnsburg.
Kelly Jay had a goal and assisted on Megan LeBaron's goal for the Rams (8-6).
Brianna Anderson had the other assist.
Lakes 4, Grayslake North 0: Alex Neal scored a goal and assisted on two others as Lakes posted a 4-0 shutout over Grayslake North.
The Eagles also got goals from Jessica David, Ashley Chernich and Kristina Umlauf.
Carmel 5, Joliet Catholic 0: Carmel jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and just kept adding to it in the second half en route to a 5-0 victory over Carmel..
Sara Petermann and Maddie Ogrinc each had 2 goals, while Kassidy Brown had a goal and 2 assists.
Wauconda 6, Grant 1: Wauconda was in good balance, scoring 3 goals before halftime and 3 after intermission in a 6-1 NSC Prairie win over Grant.
Jess Hellweg had 2 goals, while Alyssa Boisvert had a goal and an assist to lead the way.
Also scoring for Wauconda (10-3-2) were Aimie Prudhomme, Tammy Ellis and Christina Durante.
Grant got its lone goal from Autumn Gaylor.
Boys volleyball
Fremd d. Stevenson: Stevenson got swept by Fremd, 23-25, 22-25 in a nonconference match in Palatine.
Drew Vravick, Brad Feiger and Brandon Palmer each had 4 kills for Stevenson, while Harrison Kay had 11 digs.
Setter Jason Giecek rolled up 19 assists for the Patriots (13-11).
Elk Grove d. Mundelein: Mundelein dropped to 9-19 on the season with a 19-25, 14-25 nonconference loss.
John McElligott and Mitchell Baumgartner each had 5 kills, while Patrick Lentz added 4 for the Mustangs.
Tyler Emde led Mundelein with 5 digs, while setter Tim Tokarz had 13 assists.
Girls water polo
Mundelein 9, Highland Park 5: Alice Denny had 4 goals for the Mustangs, and teammate Kristin Aucutt added 2 goals.
Lacrosse
Regina 11, Lake Zurich 3: Mary Handrahan, Anna Schlueter and Sarah Hernandez each scored for the Bears.
Mundelein 12, Vernon Hills 2: Michael Petlak scored 4 goals and Josh Hutchison scored 3 to lead Mundelein to the win.
Tyler Kennedy and Charlie Gotlund each added 2 goals.
Mundelein goalie Jack Diamond rolled up 10 saves.
