Shop and share will benefit Defenders

The McHenry County Defenders can earn 5 percent of what you spend today, Tuesday and Wednesday at any Jewel Osco.

There's no limit to the amount the Defenders can raise; it depends entirely on the interest, enthusiasm and participation of community members.

For coupons for the Shop and Share, stop by the Defenders office at 124 Cass St., Woodstock.

The McHenry County Defenders is a citizen organization dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the environment.

Volleyball for a younger crowd

Sky High Athletic Center, 220 Exchange Drive, Crystal Lake, is offering a Volleytots program for kids in second through fourth grades and Team Volleykids for those in fifth and sixth grades.

This is a little league for volleyball with a lighter, larger ball and smaller court sizes.

Practice is from 7:30 to 8:30 Tuesdays, and competitions are from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

Tuition is $150 including a jersey. Space is limited. Register by calling (815) 356-0006 or online at www.skyhighvolleyball.org.
