Cancer program opens Saturday

McHenry County Department of Health will hold the Grand Opening Celebration for its Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the department's newest facility in Crystal Lake at 100 N. Virginia St.

All McHenry County women ages 35-64 with no health insurance are invited to attend.

Qualified applicants can register for free breast exams, mammograms and cervical cancer screenings and a $25 Wal-Mart gift card.

Women also can call MCDH at (815) 334-0232 to register for the IBCCP program.

Riders group to host ACRC benefit

The McHenry County Independent Riders are hosting a meat raffle from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Horizontals, 7620 Hancock Drive in Wonder Lake.

For $5 you will get six raffle tickets.

All proceeds will benefit the Adult & Child Rehab Center in Woodstock. The Rehab Center provides physical, occupational, speech and lymphedema therapies, as well as nursing care. The Rehab Center accepts most types of insurance.
