Become a county oak monitor

If you like being outside and are interested in protecting the McHenry County's oak resources, which could be lost in the next 15 to 20 years, consider being trained to carry out oak monitoring.

The training is free and is being sponsored by the McHenry County Conservation District and the Land Conservancy of McHenry County.

Volunteers do a countywide inventory of oak savannas and woodlands, working out in the field, counting, measuring and identifying our remaining oak resources

Training sessions will be held in May. To sign up, e-mail quercus@conserve mc.org.
