Park Street in the middle of everything

Like daffodils and irises that herald spring renewal, the upscale new businesses popping up in the heart of Roselle speak to the growth and re-development of this popular western suburb.

Starbucks is the latest in a lineup of trendy establishments that are part of downtown Roselle's rapid revitalization, a transformation complete with charming architectural storefronts, brick paver sidewalks, classic lampposts and abundant landscaping.

Anytime Fitness, a full-service health club, also joins the downtown's new lineup and will offer members state-of-the-art equipment and a focus on personal training. A wine shop, custom florist, specialty boutiques and eateries are among other assorted retailers that bring excitement -- and visitors -- to the Main Street area. Additionally, a Euro grocery store is slated to open this spring.

Perfectly positioned to enjoy Roselle's building boom is Park Street Crossing -- a community of 62 luxury condominiums located at the corner of Park and Main.

"Park Street Crossing puts the 'urban' in 'suburban' for residents," said Bruce Adreani, president of Norwood Builders. "Our buyers want to be able to walk to the train, neighborhood shops and favorite restaurants as they would in a major city. Yet at the same time, they seek the friendly charm of a village atmosphere. It's a 'best of both worlds' scenario, with every convenience just outside your door. As a Park Street Crossing homeowner, you're in a private luxury world all your own."

Park Street Crossing residents won't even have to venture outside to work out, because Anytime Fitness occupies one of the retail spaces at the building's street level. The first floor includes a separate building with approximately 8,000 square feet of retail space, bringing shopping and local conveniences even closer to home.

"Contrary to the national real estate slowdown, downtown Roselle is on an exciting trajectory of growth," said Patrick Watkins, director of community development for the village. "We continue to field bids from specialty shops and retailers who want to be part of the excitement. Park Street Crossing has been a cornerstone in the village's vision to offer a downtown luxury lifestyle."

Also, residents are within walking distance of the Roselle public library and village services, while Woodfield Mall and Stratford Square shopping are just a short car ride away.

Several Park Street Crossing units are ready for immediate occupancy.

"We have immediate move-in possibilities for those who don't want to wait which offer a great opportunity for buyers who are currently renting and want to get out of a lease quickly. Or, we also have homes that can be modified to the buyers' tastes, another great reason to buy new construction," said Adreani. "Whether you're ending a lease, selling a home, or buying for the first time, we have deliveries that work within your schedule.

"And like always at Park Street Crossing, we work closely with each buyer on an individual basis to help find a solution that works within their time frame and budget," Adreani said.

One of the homes available is the Carnation plan, a two-bedroom, two-bath floor plan with an open living area and separate bedrooms. This home is priced at $307,900 (all prices subject to change without notice) and spans 1,243 square feet. Also included is an eat-in kitchen with stainless steel appliances and pantry closet, plus a walk-in laundry room complete with washer and dryer. The master suite includes a walk-in shower, dual vanity and a walk-in closet. A balcony off the great room makes the home spacious and airy.

Shoppers can select from 20 designs at Park Street Crossing -- named after various flowers. Every unit has one or two bedrooms and one to two baths. Features include a breakfast bar or eat-in kitchen, an in-home laundry room, walk-in closets, heated indoor parking and a private balcony. Base prices range from $231,900 to $489,900, while sizes vary from 896 to 2,171 square feet.

Monthly association fees ranging from $140 to $311 include the cost of water, refuse removal, and gas for cooking, laundry and heat. The building also provides radiant heat through the floors, a feature that maintains more even temperatures and increases energy efficiency. In addition, an enclosed, heated garage is attached to the building for the comfort of residents.

Park Street Crossing is located at 225 E. Main St., at the corner of Park and Main, one block south of Irving Park Road and one block east of Roselle Road.

To visit the community, take 1-290 and exit Lake Street. Take Lake Street west to Roselle Road and turn north. Continue to Maple Avenue and turn right, then left on Park Street. The sales center entrance is located at the corner of Main Street and Howard Avenue, one block east of Park Street.
