Restaurant to aid rehab center

Cheeseburger in Paradise will hold a fundraiser benefiting the Adult & Child Rehab Center from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday.

A special menu has been created for the event that features entrees such as the Jerk Chicken Sandwich and Mini-Cheeseburger Entree.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children and includes a non-alcoholic beverage.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Rehab Center. To buy tickets, call the Rehab Center at (815) 338-1707.

Cheeseburger in Paradise is at 1608 S. Randall Road in the Algonquin Commons.

The Adult & Child Rehab Center provides physical, occupational, speech and lymphedema therapies, as well as nursing care. The Rehab Center accepts most types of insurance.

Sparrow Gala: Home of the Sparrow will present its annual gala fundraiser April 5 at Bull Valley Country Club in Woodstock. This year's theme is "Happy Days Sock Hop."

All area residents are invited to gather friends and come out to enjoy dinner, entertainment and raffles, as well as silent and live auctions. 1950s attire is optional.

Home of the Sparrow, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) agency located in Crystal Lake, will use proceeds from the event to provide transitional housing, counseling and support services for homeless women and their children in northern Illinois.

Volunteers are needed to help decorate and work the night of the gala. If you are interested in helping or would like to receive an invitation to the gala, call Caryn at (815) 444-1660, Ext. 30.
