Kirk offering two neighborhoods

With interest rates at historic lows and the spring home buying season heating up, renters who yearn to become home buyers have outstanding opportunities at two popular Kirk Homes communities.

Both communities include townhouses and single-family homes. At Apple Creek Estates in Woodstock, prices start in the low-$170,000s for townhouses and the mid-$240,000s for single-family homes. Rockwell Place in Lakemoor includes homes priced from mid-$160,000s for townhouses and from the low-$260,000s for single-family homes.

Apple Creek Estates, Woodstock:

Situated on the south edge of picturesque Woodstock, Apple Creek Estates is a master-planned community where Kirk Homes will build 746 single-family homes and 370 townhouses. The scenic community incorporates the Kirk Homes tradition of respect for the environment and enhancement of natural amenities for the enjoyment of the residents.

Apple Creek Estates consists of 559 acres of rolling land, 200 of which are dedicated to open space that features groves of mature trees, several ponds and the namesake Apple Creek.

Base prices range from $246,995 to $333,995 for single-family homes, and six single-family model homes are open for viewing. Three townhouse plans, offering freedom from exterior maintenance, are base-priced from $172,495 to $197,995, and five models are open for viewing, demonstrating both two designs with basic included features and three models shown with upgrades.

Ten single-family floor plans are offered, ranging in size from 1,644 up to 4,031 square feet with three to five bedrooms, 2½ to four baths, lofts and first-floor dens in many plans, full basements and two-car or available three-car garages.

Three townhouse designs range in size from 1,248 to 1,583 square feet, with two bedrooms, two bedrooms and a loft or three bedrooms, 1½ to 2½ baths, basements in some buildings, and two-car attached garages.

Area amenities include downtown historic Woodstock with shops and restaurants around a town square, a commuter train station and highly rated Woodstock District 200 schools. The Welcome Center for the Apple Creek Estates single-family homes is on Gleneagle Drive off Lucas Road, a quarter-mile west of Route 47. The Welcome Center for the townhouses is on Route 47 just north of Lucas Road. Rockwell Place, Lakemoor:

Also designed with abundant natural areas, Rockwell Place is a 272-acre master-planned community being developed by Kirk Homes. The community will include 479 single-family homes and 482 townhouses when complete.

Residents will enjoy the natural beauty of preserve areas such as the Volo Bog and easy access to the Chain O' Lakes as well as numerous state parks, forest preserves and golf courses. Shopping, commuter train service and major highways are nearby, and the excellent Big Hollow schools serve the area.

Three professionally decorated townhouse models and four single-family home models are open for viewing.

The Fields of Rockwell Place offers six single-family floor plans ranging from 1,644 to 3,232 square feet with three to five bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths, basements, fully sodded home sites and attached two or available three-car garages.

The Townes of Rockwell Place feature freedom from exterior maintenance and include three home designs that range from 1,248 to 1,583 square feet with two to three bedrooms or two bedrooms and a loft; 1½ to 2½ baths, patios, optional basements and two-car attached garages.
