International Kennel Club's Cluster of Shows is Feb. 20 to 24 at McCormick Place. Therapy demonstration: Volunteers from Lyons Township Dog Training Club's Best Friends, whose dogs are tested and certified therapy dogs, will present a demonstration Feb. 10 at Concorde Place in Northlake. • There are no conformation shows or obedience trials listed until the weekend of Feb. 16.

Agility deadline: Smack-Dab Agility Club of Warrenville set Feb. 13 as the deadline to enter its Feb. 29 and March 1 and 2 trials to be held at KICKS, Inc., Regional Sports Facility, 1310 Ridgefield Road, Crystal Lake. The entry fee is $23 plus $14 for the second entry of the same dog.

People note: James W. Maloney of Cherry Valley has completed his Provisional assignments and was approved by AKC to judge Bernese mountain dogs, Doberman pinschers, Great Pyrenees, Greater Swiss mountain dogs, Newfoundlands, Portuguese water dogs and Saint Bernards.

She will be missed: Rand Park Dog Training Club in Des Plaines has lost a loyal, hardworking and inspirational member with the recent death of Judy Shortino.
