The McHenry County chapter of Harley Owners Group is hosting its 15th annual "Heart Dance," with all proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association. The dance will be Feb. 2 at the Holiday Inn, Route 31 at Three Oaks Road in Crystal Lake.
There is a $5 donation for admission to the dance. Doors open at 7 p.m. and dancing starts at 7:30 p.m. with live music by the Fairlanes. The evening also will include raffles, "Split the Pot" and a silent auction.
A special cash prize raffle also is scheduled. Tickets are available for a $5 donation each. Winners will be drawn the night of the dance and cash prizes of $500, $300 and $150 will be awarded. Cash prize winners need not be present.
This evening of dining and dancing is open to all who support the efforts of the American Heart Association. Tickets for the dance and cash prizes are available at Woodstock Harley-Davidson, McHenry Harley-Davidson Shop or at the door the night of the dance.
The Holiday Inn is offering a sit-down dinner for $30 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. Seating begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes six entree choices. Reservations for dinner are required by Saturday by e-mailing mchogadmin@mchenryhog.com.
The event is dedicated to the memory of Glenn Schmidt, former assistant director of McHenry HOG, who passed away in 1999 from heart disease. His memory is instrumental in McHenry HOG selecting the American Heart Association as the dance benefactor.
