Endorsement: U.S. House 13

In her almost 10 years in office, 13th Congressional District Rep. Judy Biggert has staked out leadership positions in a number of key areas, including finance, education and energy. She has also worked hard to bring federal funds into her district, and has been a strong supporter of research efforts at Fermilab and Argonne, the federal research laboratories.

She is opposed in the GOP primary by Sean O'Kane, a Hinsdale home builder.

O'Kane's strength is his analysis of issues. He is particularly critical of Congress' failure to control spending and its shortcomings in national security. But he comes up short in making a case that Biggert is among the worst of the worst in Congress and has not ably represented the district.

Biggert is endorsed on the strength of her record.

The winner of this primary will face Democrat Scott Harper and Green Party candidate Steve Alesch in the general election.
