Martial arts classes to teach women how to fight assaults
The Village of Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department has teamed up with Focus Martial Arts to help teach women ages 14 and older how to fight assault from the ground.
Participants can learn defensive technique against chokes, hits and grabs. This module is especially effective for attacks in parking lots, parking garages and other areas where it is imperative that you not be taken to a secondary location.
Class is scheduled from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Focus Martial Arts, 9342 Virginia Road. The fee is $50 for residents, $60 for others. For details, call (847) 960-7460.
