Harley group to hold dance fundraiser
The McHenry County Chapter of Harley Owners Group is holding its 15th annual "Heart Dance," with all proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association.
The dance will be Feb. 2 at the Holiday Inn, Route 31 at Three Oaks Road in Crystal Lake.
There is a $5 donation for admission to the dance. Doors open at 7 p.m., with dancing starting at 7:30 p.m. and live music by the Fairlanes.
This evening of dining and dancing is not just for motorcycle owners. Everyone is welcome and it is open to all who support the efforts of the American Heart Association. For those in attendance, there also will be raffles, "Split the Pot" and a silent auction.
There will be a special cash prize raffle; tickets are available for a $5 donation each. Winners will be drawn the night of the dance, cash prizes of $500, $300 and $150 will be awarded. Cash prize winners need not be present.
Tickets for the dance and cash prizes are available at Woodstock Harley-Davidson, McHenry Harley-Davidson Shop or at the door the night of the dance.
The Holiday Inn also is offering a sit-down dinner for those who want dinner before the dance. The package dinner is $30 per person, which includes tax and gratuity, with seating beginning at 5:30 p.m. and six entree choices. Reservations for dinner are required by Jan. 26 by e-mailing mchogadmin@mchenryhog.com to reserve your seat.
The event is dedicated to the memory of Glenn Schmidt, former assistant director of McHenry HOG, who was instrumental in McHenry HOG selecting the American Heart Association as the dance benefactor, who passed away in 1999 from heart disease. For details, visit www.mchenryhog.com.
