Judson University seeks tennis coach
The Judson University athletic department is looking to fill the position of head men's and women's tennis coach for its new programs in those sports.
This individual will be responsible for all details of the sport including, but not limited to: recruiting, eligibility, compliance, NAIA documentation, public relations, travel, coaching, player development, budget management, field preparation, camps and fundraising.
Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. The university requires that all candidates have a Christian perspective and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of Judson and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the university.

The university is looking to fill the position as soon as possible with play beginning in the fall of 2008.
This is a part-time position with a salary of $12,000. No phone calls please.
Streamwood toy drive: The Streamwood High School boys and girls basketball programs will be holding their third annual toy drive next week.
Fans will get free admission on the date they attend by bringing a new, unopened toy.
The drive begins Wednesday with the freshman boys and girls games and then continues Thursday at the sophomore games and concludes Friday with the varsity games. Game times on Wednesday and Thursday are 5:45 p.m. and game time on Friday is 6 p.m.
All toys will be donated to Hanover Township.
Judson awards: With the success that Judson University's men's soccer team had this season follows awards. Picking up NAIA All-American honorable mention awards for Judson are Mark senior's Mark Howlett and Steve Moldenhauer and junior Gustavo Oliveira.
Howlett, who was named a NAIA All-American last season, as well, led the CCAC in points (1.68 ppg) and goals (1.13 pg). He was named to the NAIA Region VII first team recorded 17 goals and 41 points this season. He was named the CCAC Player of the Week three times and the NAIA Region VII Player of the Week once.
NCCAA National Player of the Year Moldenhauer became a NAIA All-American for the first time. He was the CCAC Player of the Year for his defensive skills and recently named the top player in the NCCAA. He guided JU to 6 shutouts with five in CCAC matches. He also recorded 2 goals and 2 assists for 6 points.
In his first season at Judson, Oliveira became a NAIA All-American. He was the only unanimous choice for the all-CCAC first team and also on the NAIA Region VII first team. In the CCAC, he finished third in points (1.33 pg) and 11th in goals (0.40 pg). Overall, he averaged 1.33 points per game with eight goals and 11 assists on the year. He was the CCAC Player of the Week once and the NCCAA National Player of the Week once.
JU finished its season at 15-5-3 and went to its fourth straight NAIA national tournament. The Eagles also have won four straight CCAC championships, CCAC tournament championships, and NAIA Region VII championships.
Wrestling
Huntley 37, Johnsburg 35:Œ
In Fox Valley Conference action Huntley (3-1, 1-0) was able to defeat Johnsburg (1-3, 0-1) in a close battle. Coming out victorious for the Red Raiders were Coty Claudio (119), Chris Lathrop (125), who defeated his opponent 16-5, Brock Larkin (135) and Tony Benning (189). Mike Zermeno and Jordan Bakley also pinned their opponents to lift the Red Raiders over Johnsburg.
Women's basketball
ECC 70, South Suburban 67: The Spartans (4-3) defeated South Suburban for an ISCC victory. Karin Herrera led ECC with 16 points and Meaghan Staley-Gamble also supported the Spartans with 15 points while teammate Jessica Turnage put 14 points on the board.
Kankakee 76, MCC 57: The McHenry County College women's basketball team (4-6) fell to undefeated Kankakee Community College (6-0). MCC outscored the Cavs 36-31 in the second half but KCC had started the contest on an 18-2 run, leading to a 24 point halftime advantage. MCC freshman center Lyndsey Thompson had a breakout game scoring 20 points.
Men's basketball
MCC 65, Milwaukee Area Tech 57: The McHenry County College Fighting Scots (6-1) faced Milwaukee Area Technical College and came away with a 9-point win. MCC trailed by nine at the half, 33-24, but discovered defensive energy in the second half for a hard-earned 65-57 victory over the MATC Stormers. The Scots were led by sophomore guard Lee Morris' 18 points. The Scots were 20-for-27 at the line.
