Winners of Wildcat Pride named
Hadley Junior High School in Glen Ellyn recognized students with its Wildcat Pride award for being positive models for their peers. Winfield chamber's candidate night
The Winfield Chamber Board of Directors will hold a Candidates Night at 6 p.m. today at Caliendo's Restaurant, Winfield and High Lake roads, Winfield. Grant benefits focus on health
West Chicago's Community High School District 94 received a grant of $100 for teachers Patty Clifford and Cara Blevins from the DuPage County Farm Bureau. Students will view the video "SuperSize Me" and then discuss healthy meals and preparation of them compared to fast food menus.
Teacher honored with garden grant
Sally Becker, Evergreen School elementary teacher, will be honored at the meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Benjamin District 25 Board of Education, 28W250 St. Charles Road, West Chicago. Becker received a $2,500 Captain Planet Foundation grant to develop a special Blooming Earth Garden at the school, 141 Evergreen Drive, Carol Stream. For details, call (630) 876-7800.
Carol Stream to feature folk singer
Folksinger David H.B. Drake will perform at 7 p.m. today to celebrate National Children's Book Week at the Carol Stream Public Library, 616 Hiawatha Drive, Carol Stream. The program is free and open to the community. For details or to register, call (630) 653-0755.
