Buffalo Grove Garden Club: Today is the deadline to register for the Buffalo Grove Garden Club's Tuesday meeting, being held at the Alcott Center, 530 Bernard, Buffalo Grove. Joyce Grattoni from Harper College will guide members through making a boxwood tree to use during the holiday season. Fee of $20 will be charged for the program, reservations required. Windy Brushes of Northern Illinois: Windy Brushes of Northern Illinois, a decorative painting club, will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Poplar Creek Country Club, 1400 Poplar Creek Drive, Hoffman Estates. Wheeling Garden Club: The Wheeling Garden Club, in cooperation with Phillip Carpenter AmVets Post 66, invite all to attend a Blue Star Marker Dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday in Veterans Park, at the southeast corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Dundee Road, Wheeling. The ceremony honors the men and women who have served our country, past and present, in the Armed Forces. Refreshments will follow.
Go Veggie! Northwest: A vegan potluck dinner will be hosted by Go Veggie! Northwest 1:15 p.m. Sunday, at the Barrington Area Library, 505 N. Northwest Highway, Barrington. Snowseekers Ski Club: Skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities are invited to attend the Snowseekers Ski Club meeting held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month, September through April, at First Presbyterian Church, Maple and Douglas avenues in Libertyville. The club offers families, couples and singles trips to Midwestern and Western ski slopes and an annual "Learn to Ski" weekend, in addition to a variety of non-skiing social activities.
