Trio charged with burglary

Three members of a burglary ring responsible for stealing at least $500,000 in high-end appliances from new homes under construction across suburban Chicago have been arrested, Highland Park police announced Thursday. Maciej Wyszynski, 32, of the 100 block of Hunt Club Road in Mount Prospect; and Marcin Wojdowski, 32, and Sylvester Czyzewski, both of the 8600 block of Catherine Street in Chicago, were arrested Wednesday after committing a residential burglary in the morning in Woodstock, said Highland Park police Cmdr. David Schwarz. He said the men were captured when they arrived at a Schiller Park storage facility where they planned to drop off the stolen appliances. He said the trio was charged with residential burglary, theft over $10,000 and criminal damage to property. Schwarz said search warrants were executed for homes in Mount Prospect and Chicago. Also arrested was Michael Wyszynski, 24, of Hunt Club Road in Mount Prospect. Schwarz said Michael Wyszynski was charged with possession of stolen property when a refrigerator reported taken from a Des Plaines home was recovered in the home he shared with his brother. Schwarz said a police task force was formed when area detectives noticed a pattern of at least 15 burglaries involving upscale kitchen appliances. Additional charges against the suspects are pending, he said.
