Yorktown Center hosts women's wellness fair

The first-ever DuPage Women's Fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Yorktown Center in Lombard.

The day will be filled with presentations on health, beauty, fitness and cuisine, all dedicated to enhancing the well-being and dynamic lifestyle of women.

There is no charge for the event, which his being presented by state Reps. Patti Bellock and Sandra Pihos.

Attendees can enjoy an array of services including complimentary makeovers, varicose vein analysis, body composition and screenings for asthma, blood pressure and depression.

Lancome tips: In need of a makeover or need a few tips on how to better apply makeup?

Lancome at the Macy's Woodfield Shopping Center store hosts an event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 3.

Lancome national makeup artists Alex Sanchez and Tarek Abbas, both trained in Paris, are featured at the event. They will be accompanied by 50 artists from around the country.

Green at the mall: Northbrook Court hosts the Green Life Expo, a green living and home products exposition next Saturday and Sunday.

With the goal of building awareness for consumer choices that support green living, numerous exhibitors will showcase eco-friendly products and services to inspire people to lead healthier and more sustainable lives.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. next Sunday.

It's coming soon: Woodfield Shopping Center will feature a new holiday decor experience this season.

The display re-creates the North Pole as featured in Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming holiday comedy "Fred Claus."

Beginning Nov. 2, Woodfield shoppers will have a chance to experience the Fred Claus Interactive Snow Globe Exhibit -- a 20-foot-high walk-through snow globe with a cold winter blast and falling snow to welcome visitors to the North Pole.

The exhibit also includes three-dimensional scenes from Fred Claus, showcased in three, six-foot-high snow globes with buttons to launch interactive elements.

Think pink: Coldwater Creek women's clothing stores in Deer Park, Geneva, Naperville, Oak Brook, Schaumburg and Bolingbrook are giving 10 percent of sales made during two-hour time periods Sunday afternoon to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation.

Shoppers during those times will receive 10-percent off their purchases. There will be refreshments and fashion shows. At the Geneva store, representatives from the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center of Geneva will give presentations.

The "Fashion for the Cure" event is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Deer Park store and from 4 to 6 p.m. at the others.
