Nine arrested at 'gambling house' in Bartlett

Bartlett police have raided what they described as a "gambling house," arresting nine people and seizing cash, drugs and surveillance equipment.

Officers executed a search warrant Thursday at 290 Wayne Court with assistance from a member of the Cook County sheriff's vice unit.

Authorities said they seized more than $7,000 in cash and about 130 grams of marijuana, or a little more than a fourth of a pound. Police also said they seized several pieces of drug paraphernalia, gambling paraphernalia including a video poker machine and surveillance equipment used to monitor the outside of the building.

Nine people were charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and playing a game of chance, or gambling, authorities said.

Huffman was also charged with a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police said he brought to the house a 16-year-old, who was cited for possession of cannabis.

Outside the residence, two Streamwood men found in a car were issued local ordinance citations for possession of cannabis, authorities said. They were identified as William Ciullo, 39, of 19 S. Victoria Lane, and Joseph Scianna, 31, of 800 S. Oltendorf Lane.
