Scouting round-up in Itasca

The inaugural Cub Scout Fall Registration Round-Up Picnic will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter the Apostle School, 500 N. Cherry St., Itasca. For boys first through fifth grade, the picnic will include volleyball; badminton; punt, pass and throw contests; ring toss; bean bag toss; sponge wars; kite-making, and other crafts. Rotary celebration in Roselle

The Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club is celebrating their tenth anniversary from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Miracle Field at Parkside Park, 401 E. Maple Ave., Roselle. There will be a bean bag tournament from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Registration for the tournament costs $30 for a two-member team, and includes two T-shirts, and two meal and drink tickets. First prize is a $200 gift certificate to Dick's Sporting Goods. There will also be a climbing wall, obstacle course, pony rides, a face painter, pitching contest, and wiffle ball home run derby. Bloomingdale Parks wins grant

Bloomingdale Park District has won a 2007 Energy Efficient Lighting Upgrade Grant awarded by the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation. The grant will allow for the upgrading of light fixtures to a more energy-efficient lighting solution at Johnston Recreation Center, Springfield Park Concession Stand, and the Bloomingdale Park District Museum. Art exhibit raised funds

The Members' Choice Art Exhibit at the Bloomingdale branch of DuPage Credit Union raised a total of $1,110 for the Western and Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Associations. The exhibit featured artwork created by children and adults with disabilities, and the community was allowed to vote for their favorite work with a $10 donation. The Associations provide recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities. For details, call (630) 428-3440 ext. 3880.
