Raue Center set for benefit ball

Raue Center for the Arts will hold the third annual Stargazers Ball to benefit the performing and cultural arts center in historic downtown Crystal Lake at 7 p.m. Oct. 5 in the ballroom at Boulder Ridge Country Club, 350 Boulder Drive, Lake in the Hills.

Opportunities for photographs and videotaping will be plentiful as more than 200 distinguished guests from the McHenry County area enjoy a celebrated evening filled with a live auction -- featuring fine jewelry and wine tastings, trips and vacations and various sporting team packages donated by area businesses and individuals --ballroom dancing and the rich sounds of the Anthony Kawalkowski Orchestra.

The Prairie Ridge Madrigals from Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake will be featured participants at the annual Stargazers Ball.

The madrigals, featuring 12 young men and women, will serenade guests as they arrive for the evening's festivities.

Opened in the fall of 2001, Raue Center has enjoyed many successes, including visits from more than 300,000 patrons in 300 different ZIP codes. In addition, Raue Center has introduced the arts to more than 130,000 of McHenry County's school children through its Mission Imagination education outreach program and has created the theater into a home for more than 10,000 of the region's citizens who performed on stage.

Raue Center is established as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that has welcomed the best performing artists from around the world to perform on stage for the residents of McHenry County.
