Get your dogs going, take part in Companions' Snoopy festival

Canine Companions for Independence will host its 15th Annual Snoopy Dog Fest fundraiser Sept. 20 at Naperville Riverwalk.

The dog walk, with or without your dog, will have registration and breakfast at 10 a.m. The almost 2 mile walk will start at 11 a.m.

Additional events that start just after noon include costume contests, demonstrations, music, food and more.

CCI is an organization that trains and places service dogs for the disabled, other than the deaf and blind, which helps them achieve a more independent life.

Also involved with CCI is the Lions Project CCI, which can be contacted through any of your local Lions clubs for information.

Agility:ŒWI-IL Agility Club of Spring Grove will hold Agility Trials Sept. 21, 22 and 23 at KICKS Inc., Regional Sports Facility, 1310 Ridgefield Road, Crystal Lake, so you have a choice of three days to find out what Agility is all about. • Rand Park Dog Training Club has set Sept. 24 as the deadline to enter its Agility Trials to be held Oct. 13 and 14 at Sports Zone, 1945 Cornell Ave., Melrose Park. TDX Tests:ŒRand Park Dog Training Club will hold Tracking Tests Excellent, known as TDX, the morning of Sept. 23 at Green Valley Forest Preserve in Naperville. Although you've missed the entry deadline, you may want to get up before breakfast to see what these are all about.

Correction Clinics:ŒCar-Dun-Al Obedience Dog Training Club's next Correction Clinic will be held Sept. 25 at 10643 Wolf Drive, Huntley. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and judging at 7 p.m. Entries are accepted until 8 p.m. Gate entry fee is $7 plus $5 for an additional entry of same dog. • The German Shepherd Dog Training Club of Chicago will hold the next Correctional Clinic Sept. 28. Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. and judging at 7 p.m. Pre-entry fee is $5 plus $3 for an additional entry of same dog, and gate or e-mail entry is $6 and $4. Send the pre-entry plus check payable to the club to Teri Childers, 894 Somerset Drive, Carol Stream, IL 60188. Pre-entries must be received by Wednesday prior to clinic. These are held in the clubhouse at 4925 County Farm Road in Hanover Park. New classes:ŒRiver Trails Park District holds dog training classes in the multipurpose room at 550 Business Center Drive in Mount Prospect.
