Fall Family Fest set at Lions Park
Celebrate the beginning of the fall season at Cary Park District's Fall Family Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lions Park on Silver Lake Road, off Three Oaks Road.
Visitors can enjoy hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo, crafts, a pumpkin patch and more.
Walgreens in Cary will be on site running a "Capture a Memory" photo station. Have your picture taken against the seasonal backdrop and receive one complimentary picture.
Admission is $8 for children 3 years and older; $4 for children ages 1 to 2; and free for adults and children under the age of 1. Admission fee includes all activities.

Learn about global climate changes
Bill Sweitzer, a Crystal Lake resident who has participated in a training program led by former Vice President Al Gore, will be showing a 60-minute presentation featuring highlights from Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" and the most recent updates on global warming/climate.
The program will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 18 at MCC's Conference Center, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.
In addition, Sweitzer will offer concrete suggestions on how individuals can help reduce global climate change. He will be joined by Pat Dieckhoff, Waste Reduction Specialist for the Lou Marchi Total Recycling at McHenry County College.
