Fisher Farm for those who don't want supersized home

Airhart Construction is preparing to begin sales and construction this month on Fisher Farm, a community of 71 single-family homes in Winfield.

The homes range in size from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet. Pre-construction pricing goes from the mid-$400,000s to the low $700,000s.

"The homes at Fisher Farm are customizable residences that appeal to shoppers who don't necessarily need or want a supersized home," Court Airhart said, president of West Chicago-based Airhart Construction.

Fisher Farm will sit on a 20-acre site bordered by Klein Creek Golf Course, The Great Western Trail and the planned new location for Wheaton Christian Grammar School.

Fisher Farm will offer smaller home sites to maintain as much open space and natural amenities as possible, including a parcel that will be preserved as open space.

Airhart Construction plans to target area empty nester buyers, young professionals and singles.

One of Fisher Farm's selling points will be its one-eighth-acre lots -- many of which feature cul-de-sac locations, views of the 18-hole public golf course and back up to a pond and open space.

A monthly maintenance fee will cover lawn care, snow removal and landscaping and common area maintenance.

Buyers can select from eight floor plans: two ranches, two ranches with optional second floors, two traditional two-story designs, and two two-story plans with a first-floor master bedroom suite. Each home includes two to four bedrooms, two to 3½ baths, built-in appliances, a full unfinished basement, two-car attached garage, brick patio or deck, brick and stone exterior, direct-vent gas fireplace and oak floors.

Neighborhood highlights will include two seating areas along the pond's east side and a walking/bike bath that connects to The Great Western Trail, a common meeting/park area.

Sales for Fisher Farm will be conducted at Airhart Construction's Mackenzie model home at 2004 N. Stoddard Ave., Wheaton.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Tuesdays by appointment and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. For information, call (630) 665-5700 or visit www.airhartconstruction.com.
