Bereaved parents meet Tuesday

The Bereaved Parents of the Woodfield Area will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Prince of Peace Church, 930 W. Higgins Road, Schaumburg.

The group will discuss "Managing Stress and Change While Grieving," and is open to any parent, grandparent or adult sibling of a child who has died.

'Taste of ICL' held Sept. 5 at Roosevelt

The Institute for Continued Learning at Roosevelt University's Schaumburg campus will hold the complimentary "Taste of ICL" at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Alumni Hall, 1400 N. Roosevelt Blvd. Both new and returning members may register for the nine-week fall term, beginning Sept. 17.

Featured will be previews of study group topics "Winston Churchill," "Meeting Minorities" and "Comedy In Music." Other activities, such as the winter lecture series, field trips, social gatherings and discussion groups, will be discussed by institute President Bob Allen. A breakfast snack will also be served.

Roselle Fire Dept. raises over $4,500

The Roselle Fire Department helped raise more than $4,500 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in July. Volunteers collected money at the intersection of Roselle and Irving Park roads for the Fill The Boot campaign.

Proceeds will go toward staffing clinics, equipment, children's summer camp, and research to find a cure.

Goality to hold charity walk/run

Goality Fitness Club in Itasca will hold a 5K Fun Run/2K Fitness Walk Sept. 29 to benefit the Children's Advocacy Center in Hoffman Estates. The event will be held at the Spring Creek Reservoir in Bloomingdale, with registration starting at 8 a,m,, and the event start time of 8:30 a.m.
