Movers and Shakers

With 26 years of experience in human resources, Anthony Spahr was named managing director of human resources at Elgin Community College. Spahr was previously employed as executive director of human resources for St. Charles Community Unit School District 303, and spent 20 years employed in various capacities at Morton College in Cicero. He has served as a consultant-evaluator for the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation review council; as an adjunct faculty member in graduate studies at Benedictine University, Lisle; and as a multiple-year delegate to the Illinois Association of School Boards. Spahr holds a doctorate degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and a master's degree from George William College, now part of Aurora University.

Gina Becci of Pingree Grove joined the Randall Road office of Elgin-based First Community Bank as vice president and commercial loan officer. Becci, who holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Concordia University, River Forest, is a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Fox Valley. She has volunteered with Senior Service Association in Elgin and with Junior Achievement.

Donald H. Wilson was appointed president and chief operating officer of Amcore Financial Inc. Wilson previously held the position of chief financial officer.

Sycamore insurance agent Jeff Keicher was named a Legion of Honor Agent by State Farm, recognizing his dedication to quality and long-term profitable growth of all State Farm product lines.

Operator Nick Kondos Jr. of the Crystal Lake Kirby vacuum cleaner distributorship won a trip to Taormina, Sicily, from The Kirby Co. as part of its Challenge of Champions "Walk of Fame."

Sue Hills of Yorkville, a financial consultant with A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc., Geneva, earned the title of chartered retirement planning counselor after completing a training course offered through the College for Financial Planning.

St. Charles resident John Neumaier, a business consultant with Gallagher Benefit Services, Schaumburg, was invited to become a member of the Executives for Make-A-Wish Network, a group of business executives working to bring hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions through the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
