Don Mauer's Improved Peanut Butter Spread

2/3 cup garbanzo beans (from a 15-ounce can) 1/2 cup reduced-fat peanut butter2-3 tablespoons reserved garbanzo bean liquid1 teaspoon kosher salt (or 1/2 teaspoon table salt)Drain garbanzo beans, reserving some of the liquid. Measure 2/3 cup beans; rinse and drain a second time.Add beans, peanut butter and 2 tablespoons bean liquid to a food processor bowl. Process until almost smooth. Taste, season with salt; add more liquid if necessary and process until smooth.Remove from processor to a small bowl, cover and refrigerate.Makes about 1 cup.Nutrition values per 2 tablespoons: 115 calories (43.8 percent from fat), 5.6 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 11.4 g carbohydrate, 1.8 g fiber, 4.8 g protein, 0 cholesterol, 272 mg sodium.
