  • Judge denies lower bail for Ingleside man who may lose tongue Dec 3, 2014 5:05 PM
    A Lake County judge denied a motion Wednesday to lower bail for an Ingleside teen accused of leading police on a wild chase in mid-November while high and drunk. Judge Christen Bishop refused to reduce Ronald Maas’ $2 million bail, but said more medical procedures for could be ordered as needed to keep Maas healthy while he awaits trial.

    The Illinois State Board of Education has authorized grants supporting before- and after-school enrichment programs serving nearly 70,000 students annually. Among the 87 grant recipients for 2015 are: Elgin Area School District U-46, East Aurora School District 131, West Aurora School District 129, West Chicago Elementary School District 33 and Community Unit District 300, who collectively will receive $3.24 million of the $33 million in federal 21st Century Community Learning Center grants.
