Dundee Township Lions receive 14,000 eye glasses for recycling

The Dundee Township Lions, in cooperation of the Indiana Lions, recently received more than 14,000 eye glasses for recycling from the Peepers by PeepersSpecs.

These glasses will be taken to the Indiana Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center for sorting and preparation to be distributed in the U.S. and throughout the world.

This is the largest donation of glasses ever received by the Dundee Township Lions Club.

Jim McClung, Dundee Township Lions president, noted, "We are very grateful for such a generous donation from Peepers. We could not have done this without the help of Tom Slattery, chairman of eyeglass recycling project in Indiana who provided the transportation."

These donations are being delivered to the center where volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the eyeglasses.

Recycled eyeglasses are distributed to people in need from low and middle income communities throughout the world where it will have the greatest impact.
