Prairie Landing Golf Club in West Chicago opens Wednesday

Prairie Landing Golf Club, nestled in DuPage County at 2325 Longest Drive in West Chicago, will open for its 23rd season Wednesday, March 14.

A premier golfing destination in the western suburbs, the championship "prairie links" style 18-hole course is rated 4½ stars by Golf Digest's Best Places to Play.

"With temperatures starting to rise and daylight increasing, we are eager to open our doors for another exciting season of golf," said J.R. Starnes, PLGC Golf Operations Manager. "The course is in great shape and we have many terrific events, promotions and outings on the docket."

New this year, PLGC will feature a hole-in-one competition on the Par 3 14th Hole. Golfers can pay $20 to participate and claim $10,000 if they ace the shot. Additionally, the Club has a new fleet of carts on the way. The YamaTrack carts, arriving in early May, feature innovative GPS to protect eco-sensitive areas of the course and built-in functionally that will enhance and personalize the golfing experience at PLGC. "Golfers on the course will soon be able to order food from the comfort of their carts and pick it up when turning to the back 9," added Starnes.

The course is open to golfers of all experience and skill levels, from the most advanced players with low handicaps to those looking to swing a club for the very first time. To book a tee-time or inquire about lessons, visit www.prairielanding.com, www.golfnow.com or call the pro shop at (630) 208-7600.

The practice center, which features a driving range, chipping/putting green and two par-four practice holes, is also the perfect place for golfers to shake off the rust and fine-tune their stroke after a long winter.

Prairie Landing Golf Club features a restaurant, McChesney's Pub & Grill, which begins serving food at 11 a.m. seven days a week. McChesney's is the ideal location for a drink and relaxing bite to eat following a day on the course.

In the next few months, Prairie Landing Golf Club will host an Easter Brunch on April 1, a Spring Scramble April 28, Mother's Day activities on May 13 and its first "Family Night on the Range" after school lets out in June.
