Glenbard students create heartfelt valentines for veterans

On Feb. 1, Glenbard District 87 students, staff and parents gathered in each Glenbard high school's cafeteria to create beautiful cards and letters for military personnel and hospitalized veterans as part of "Valentines for Vets."

Glenbard is grateful go to the many clubs, advisers, teams and coaches who participated and helped coordinate this special day.

Students also were able to personally thank the veterans who attended this popular event. Many Glenbard feeder middle schools and elementary schools again joined in this celebration that encourages students to remember the sacrifice of others.

Thanks go to volunteers on the Advocating Character Through Service (ACTS) Committee who organize "Valentines for Vets" each year, as well as the village of Glendale Heights for its commitment to this important service opportunity.
