Glenbard Parent Series 4/27 event: Cultivating Students' Curiosity

The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families will present The Hungry Mind: Cultivating Your Student's Curiosity with Susan Engel on Thursday, April 27, at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main St. in Lombard.

Children naturally possess an active interest in the world and learn best when curiosity is stimulated. How can parents and teachers support this critical skill? In this fascinating discussion, Engel will talk about what makes us curious and the influences that can encourage or stifle intellectual explorations. Attendees will learn how to create environments where curiosity is nurtured and rewarded, allowing young people to learn easily and happily. Key strategies will be provided to foster curiosity so all students thrive.

Please join us at 7 p.m. April 27 at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main St. in Lombard.

Engel is a highly regarded developmental psychologist and the director of the Program in Teaching at Williams College in Williamstown, MA.
