DuPage State's Attorney supports Sen. Nybo's legislation in committee

SPRINGFIELD - DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin testified during the Senate Criminal Law Committee meeting March 14 about legislation being sponsored by State Sen. Chris Nybo (R-Elmhurst).

Senate Bill 1422 would require courts to regard questions about exceptions to the statute of limitations in the same manner they consider questions regarding proper venue or any other challenges to a charging document - in a pre-trial hearing.

Senate Bill 1422 was approved by the Criminal Law Committee.
