St. Peter's to host spaghetti benefit for Chuck Petersen
Join a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Chuck Petersen from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Road in Hampshire. A free will donation will be accepted. There also will be a raffle.
Peterson was recently diagnosed with an aggressive, large-cell non-Hodgkins lymphoma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. He has donated so much of his time to various church and community efforts so this is a chance to give back to him. Your support will help offset the medical bills.
He has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Feed My Starving Children. He was a coach for many years for Central District Baseball League and a soccer coach for AYSO. He enjoys playing the trumpet and has performed at ECC and other venues. A lifelong member of St. Peter, he has served as choir director, bell choir founder, and director, as well as Sunday school teacher. He was integral in starting Little Saints Preschool where he served on the board for many years.
A lifelong residents in the Elgin area, Chuck is the owner-operator of Reed Septic Service and Warfel's Multi-Flo.
His family includes his wife, Christy and two sons, Dan and Matt. Matt is a senior at Burlington Central High School and Dan, a 2015 graduate, is currently attending Elgin Community College.
