Glenbard students chosen for Music Education Association District Festival
Several Glenbard District 87 students were selected for the 2016 Illinois Music Education Association District IX Honor Festivals. The students selected for the Honor Band, Honor Choir, Honor Orchestra, & Nominated Ninth Grade Choir will perform at the Traditional Festival on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Lake Park High School. The students selected for the Honor Jazz Bands, Honor Jazz Combos and Honor Vocal Jazz Ensembles will perform at the Jazz Festival on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Hampshire High School.
Students were selected for all ensembles based on a rigorous audition procedure of etudes, musical excerpts, scales, triads and sight-reading. During auditions on Oct. 4, 91 judges heard 2,424 students from across the western suburbs.
