Carol Stream employee team raises $6,500 for American Cancer Society

The "Red, White and You" team joined hundreds of others at the Relay For Life event on Saturday, June 25, at Glenbard North High School, where 23 teams raised nearly $103,000 to fund research, prevention and support for those with cancer.

The American Cancer Society honored ALitho as a Gold Team for the second year in a row, recognizing the employees' leadership in gathering funds to fight cancer here in Illinois and nationwide. Top fundraiser for the team was co-captain Glenn Chelius, who brought in nearly $2,000 in donations.

Red, White and You team members brought out the "fun" in fundraising this season with an evening of painting at Faux Design Studio of Addison, organized by American Litho staffer Sharon Rubar.

Another highlight was the company-wide raffle of a 49-inch flat-screen TV donated by team member and co-chair Jim Raffini.

"We were looking for a way to create some extra excitement," says Raffini. "There were plenty of people on the team that stepped up to sell raffle tickets, which was great to see."

The raffle raised $1,760, with all proceeds supporting the Relay team. American Litho employee Rosa Mata took home the new TV.

Chelius and Raffini extended special thanks to their colleagues on the Red, White and You team, including Nizar Zayed, Ellie Valadez, Sharon Rubar, Karie Vaughn, Dana Howell, Amanda Zaccari, Dempsey Knapp and Steve Pham.

Company staffers will hold a second event in 2016 to with the goal of raising $10,000 for American Cancer Society before year-end. Make your gift to support the fight to end cancer at the American Litho team page.
