Glenbard Parent Series June 15 event to explore the Empathy Advantage

The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families will present the Empathy Advantage: the Real/Hidden/Overlooked Secret to Kids' Success with Michele Borba on Wednesday, June 15.

Empathy must be taught and nurtured to confront today's self-absorption epidemic. A lack of empathy can hurt students' academic performance and their ability to collaborate, innovate and problem-solve. Borba, psychologist and author of "UnSelfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in Our All-About-Me-World," will share a revolutionary, researched-based plan for reversing the selfie syndrome. Audience members will learn how to reclaim face-to-face conversation and better connect with teens' emotional lives in today's plugged-in world.

This GPS special event will begin at 7 p.m. June 15 in the auditorium at Glenbard South High School, 23W200 Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn. A 6:30 p.m. welcome reception is planned for freshmen families and all those new to the Glenbard high schools. This is a great opportunity to learn about the ways to get involved in the parent organizations that benefit our community.
