Family fun fest to support American Brain Tumor Association

The second annual EISUS Fun Fest will be held from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at Lions Park in Villa Park.

The Susan Jurkonis Memorial Scholarship Foundation invites everyone to come and enjoy the games for children and adults, the raffle, pizza from Michael Anthony's, and music by The Clones. All proceeds from this event are being raised to support the American Brain Tumor Association. Visitors to the event will have fun as they help support an organization that supports families struggling with brain tumors and research to find a cure.

The EISUS Fun Fest is one of two events held to raise funds for scholarships for student athletes at Willowbrook High School and for support of an organization the Jurkonis family founded when their 19-year-old daughter and sister, Susan, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor while on a volleyball scholarship at Purdue University. Susan lost her battle with the disease at the age of 22 and the Foundation began to work toward its dream of helping find a cure for brain tumors, recognizing outstanding students, and remembering Susan.

Visitors to the Fest will find an extensive raffle area. They will find games of the Minute to Win It format for adults. Children will enjoy fun games, a professional face painter, Wendee Goles, and a professional balloon artist, Chuck Bista. In addition, the locally organized group, The Clones of Send in the Clones, a cover band, will perform for all to enjoy. The group plays a wide variety of music from country to current songs.

The foundation is proud to announce that all of the funds raised are sent to the ABTA because of the extreme generosity of sponsors, volunteers, the Villa Park Parks and Recreation Department, the face painter, the balloon artist, and the band.

The invitation is out there to everyone and for more information visit www.eisusvolleyball.com or email eisus15@gmail.com. Follow the Susan Jurkonis Memorial Scholarship Foundation on Facebook.
