St. Charles Arts Council hosts neXt gallery opening reception July 9

The St. Charles Arts Council's neXt gallery is popping up again - this time at 303 W. Main St. An opening reception will be held 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 9. It will coincide with an "ART at WORK," sponsored by Wunderlich, which will be across the hall from the gallery.

The neXt gallery will be open Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, Aug. 2. It features 2-D and 3-D visual art, including painting, sculpture, and photography created by both local and regional visual artists.

Artists in the neXt gallery on Main Street are: Guy J. Bellaver, Jennifer Knoblach, Darren Robinson, Jane Callahan, Robert Krawczyk, Jennifer Ross, Tony Carnesecchi, Kathi Kuchler, Linda Roxe, Henrietta DuBois, Hollis Levine, David Simcik, Claudia Frost, Lorraine Mahoney, Nanette Stephens, Kimberly Gust, Michele Norman, John Sternickle, Elizabeth Higdon, Erik Ohrn, Timothy Vail, Bertram Hoddinott III, Matthew Puchyr, Michael Wallace, Doina Iacob, Janice Rangel, Fred Zinke, Allen Johnson, Felicia Raschke and Todd Willing.

Artists featured at Wunderlich's "ART at WORK" are: Russ Devereaux (spoken word); Bart Woodstrup (video); and John and Phil LaDeur (music).

The St. Charles Arts Council and the neXt gallery committee extends a special thank you to Oleg Schulzhenko, Orawin Technology, the building owner, for the use of the space, and to Renee Raymond and Jim Tolbert of Wunderlich for facilitating the arts council's use of the space for the gallery and for their generous sponsorship of the "ART at WORK."

The neXt gallery Pop-Up Art Gallery program is a collaboration that promotes local/regional artists, the St. Charles Arts Council, and the St. Charles business community. The program is called neXt gallery, because you never know where it will pop up next!
