The Goddard School Third Lake is Expanding its Outdoor Learning Experience
The Goddard School Third Lake is evolving and expanding to meet the growing and changing needs of the school and its students. Nature will be brought to life in the Outdoor Learning Center on the new 5-acre nature preserve expansion. They will add a nature trail, shaded playground, and children will experience, art, music, gardening and science in the spacious field behind the school.
Expanding the full Goddard school to 8 acres, the Learning Center will also have over 1000 sq feet of fencing, creating a safe environment for nature study.
"As a teacher with a passion for science, the hands-on learning provided by the center will give children a chance to flourish and develop key skills academically, and socially," said Krystal Ames long time teacher at Goddard. "Children need to be outside and this center will give them the opportunity to create life-long memories."
The woodchip trail along the perimeter will have sections that overlook a marsh and a pond creating opportunities for children to see animals and birds in their natural habitat.
"It was an opportunity that was hard to pass up," says Goddard School owner David Raye. "I am a big believer in conservation and this gives our school an added plus right out our back door."
"Our 2 children have been in the Goddard School Third Lake since they were 3 months old. Next month, our oldest will be graduating kindergarten!
