Volunteers needed to help Lambs Farm with annual Popcorn Days

The correct number to call for details is (847) 990-3865.

Nearly 50,000 bags of popcorn arrived at Lambs Farm this week in anticipation of the seventh annual Popcorn Days, a community fundraising event that raises funds for quality programs and services for 250 adults with developmental disabilities.

The participants at Lambs Farm hand labeled and boxed the caramel corn, donated by The Popcorn Factory. Nearly 60 community retail stores, restaurants, banks and galleries are hosting Popcorn Days May 1 and 2. New this year is the support of surrounding companies like Idex, Akorn Pharmaceutical, Sodexho/Siemens Healthcare, United Stationers, UL, and many more.

Through the week of April 27, these corporations will tag for Lambs Farm in their lobbies and cafeterias.

Volunteers are still needed to work three- to four-hour shifts. You may volunteer as an individual or part of a group of family or friends. Collection sites are in the following communities: Antioch, Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Cary, Evanston, Grayslake, Gurnee, Highland Park, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Lindenhurst, Long Grove, Mount Prospect, Northbrook, Palatine, Round Lake Beach, Vernon Hills, and Waukegan.

Lambs Farm is also looking for Popcorn Days captains who can, with the support from staff, recruit volunteers, identify new locations, drop off supplies and pick up donations at designated collection sites.

Last year, Lambs Farm raised $31,000. With increased volunteer help, the event can be even more successful.
