I took the picture of this Cooper's Hawk while it sat on my fence waiting for a small bird to visit a bird feeder. I liked the wet and windblown look this guy has because of the wet snow and wind of that day. Milton Hoskins of Hampshire
I took this photo on a trip to New York City last month when my wife and I went to the top of Rockefeller Center just before sunset. The photo is of Manhattan and the Empire State Building is in the foreground and the Freedom Tower is in the back. Curt Sriver, of Geneva.

Kiersten Lopez stretches on the beach at sunset on Anna Maria Island, Florida. Stephanie Lopez of Hawthorn Woods
I recently took out-of-town visitors to see the Fabyan Japanese Tea Garden in Geneva, Illinois. It was the last week the garden was open this season. Mark Sand, of Wheaton
Snowflakes were heavily falling this morning on Halloween. I walked outside with my macro camera setup and searched for a decent surface to capture a snowflake photo, however the snowflakes were too wet and melted almost instantly upon impact. I then realized that my plaid shirt made the perfect surface to photograph a snowflake. I waited until a snowflake landed on my left sleeve, and then took the photo one-handed. I used a Canon MP-E 65 mm lens with a ring lite flash. Angela Cichosz, of Carol Stream
