Help feed 150 homeless students and their families at Nov. 17 food drive

Help share hope this Thanksgiving join Lifeline Christian Church for "Food Fight for Local Families" from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at Brunswick Zone XL, 1611 S. Randall Road in Algonquin.

For the fifth year, Lifeline Christian Church is working in conjunction with Community Unit District 300's homeless committee to provide Thanksgiving dinner, "More Than a Meal" for the homeless students and their families.

Lifeline Christian Church will be collecting the following items: 20-lb. turkeys, 10¾ oz. cans cream of mushroom soup, 14.5 oz cans French cut green beans, 2.8 oz can French fried onions, 2 lb. 8 oz. cans cut sweet potatoes in syrup, 10.5 oz bags mini-marshmallows, 14 oz. cans whole berry cranberry sauce, brown-and-serve rolls, boxes of mostaccioli and 28 oz. cans of diced tomatoes.

Donations are also welcome. This is a way for families, businesses and local groups (sports teams, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.) to help make a difference right here in the community.
