District 214 Art Expo is Saturday

Northwest Suburban High School District 214 is holding its 12th annual Art Expo from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in the Forest View Educational Center cafeteria, located at 2121 S. Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights. A collaborative effort between art departments in the high schools of District 214 and participating sender middle schools, the expo will exhibit two- and three-dimensional work of outstanding local student artists. All six District 214 high schools will participate; exhibiting middle schools are Cooper, Thomas, River Trails, and South; junior highs include Friendship and Grove. The expo this year will, as has been the practice in past years, include live demonstrations by District 214 students, as well as the display of art work by the participating middle school and junior high students. The public is invited to attend both the free art exhibit and share in the refreshments served in the commons area. Live music will be provided by Buffalo Grove High School students. For additional information, contact District 214 Fine and Performing Arts Coordinator Jeremy Morton at (847) 718-5365.
