Weber, Niesel lead Burlington C. to title at ACC

Burlington Central senior Matt Weber defeated teammate Austin Niesel on the first playoff hole to win the individual title and their matching 1-over par 72s led the Rockets to the team championship Saturday at the Aurora Central Catholic Invitational. The tournament was played at Phillips Park in Aurora, the same course many of the teams participating Saturday, including the Rockets, will play on in the Class 2A regional Oct. 8.

Andrew Sherman shot an 83 and Jacob Ledbuhr added an 84 for BC, which shot a 311.

Marmion, ACC and St. Francis each shot 315, with Marmion taking second and ACC third on fifth-score tiebreakers.

John Stolte of St. Francis had a 73 to finish third, while Daniel Miller of ACC and Brett Seward of Aurora Christian each had 74s to round out the top five.
