Explore your relationship to nature with artistic expression

What is an orange dove? Find out Saturday, June 8, when local artist Mary Telfer guides a new, unique art experience from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Art Studio in the Sage Therapeutic Recreation Center at the Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association office, 285 Memorial Drive, Crystal Lake.

Create a group mural, paint watercolors, enjoy Panera snacks or dance with DJ Liz while exploring your relationship to nature and the animal world through art. Telfer’s inspiration comes from her passion for working with people of all abilities. This event, which links local residents with volunteers from the local art community, will feature two NISRA artists with disabilities. NISRA, which is an extension of 13 local park districts and cities, provides year round community recreation for residents with disabilities

The event’s suggested donation is $5 per person or $10 per family. People of all ages and abilities are welcome, and no art experience is necessary.

For more information or to register by Friday, May 31, contact NISRA at (815) 459-0737, or visit www.nisra.org.
