Residential awnings expert Thatcher Retractables Moves from Elmhurst to Burr Ridge

Thatcher Oaks Awnings is an awnings company that previously manufactured and installed both residential and commercial awnings and canopies. In 2006, Thatcher Oaks split into two divisions: Thatcher Oaks Commercial Awnings and Thatcher Retractables (residential). In October 2011, Thatcher Oaks decided to focus solely on the commercial side of their business, and Rodney Allott, Director of Sales & Operations for Thatcher Retractables, purchased the residential side of the business and opened Thatcher Retractables Products Inc. as a separate business entity.

Rodney Allott has a vast amount of experience in the awnings industry, moving his way up from installation to sales positions respectively. He started at Thatcher Oaks in 2006 as a sales representative and was promoted to Director of Sales, Director of Sales and Operations, and Director of Sales for Commercial and Residential Sales Channels respectively before purchasing Thatcher Retractables.

Since the company was already run as a division prior to the purchase, the equipment, the employees, and the management are all the same. If I had to state one specific difference, we have concentrated our efforts on serving residential customers. While many companies are trying to diversify, we are finding our greatest success is to be the best at what we do.”

With the move, Thatcher Retractables has gained a large manufacturing facility that allows them to manufacture all of their products in-house. All product quality meets Thatcher Retractables' high standards, and customers are free to observe the manufacturing process at any stage.
