Palatine picks up first win

Junior Rachel Chumbook had 7 goals, 2 assists and 3 steals to help Palatine to its first victory of the season, an 18-7 victory at Lake Forest in nonconference play.

Sophomore Caroline Wojtas had 4 goals and 5 steals, and junior Emily Seidl scored 3 goals for the Pirates (1-2).

Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Terzic made 11 saves for the Pirates.

• Karolina Szymaszek scored 4 goals and Hannah Lippstreuer had 2 to help Hersey pick up a 9-4 victory over host Elk Grove in Mid-Suburban East action. Kathryn Noonan scored twice to lead the Grenadiers.
